We are delighted to announce the introduction of our own heat shield manufactured for the Weber DCOE and DCO/SP series of carburetors.
On non-crossflow engines, the carburetors are directly above the exhaust manifold and when exhaust heat increases, it can cause fuel handling problems on side draft carburetors. This is something we are seeing becoming a bigger problem with increasing levels of ethanol in modern fuels, and it is something that is only likely to get worse.
The new Weber Heat Shield helps alleviate these problems by diverting heat around the carburetor, as well as providing an insulating layer of air between the shield and the base of the carburetor.
Comments from our satisfied customers:
"They are brilliant. Since installing 45 on my 1962 TR4, I have suffered fuel evaporation when the carbs sit on the exhaust manifold. I installed the guards in preparation for a rally to Dijon, France, with a high temperature of 38 degrees. I did not suffer the problems of previous years. Highly recommended for all engines with these Weber dco/sp, you will avoid many problems.
The new Heat Shield is superbly crafted from 1.6mm stainless steel to easily distinguish it from thinner, less effective copies on the market.
Below is a photo of the new heat shields fitted to 3 x 40DCOE fitted to a Triumph GT6 from one of our customers.
If you have Weber DCOE mounted, this item would be an excellent addition to your setup.
